Cisco CCNA Exam Tips

Printer-Friendly Format

A few short thoughts on why people fail the CCNA and how you can be one of those
who passes first time.

1. Please ensure you have a full and detailed understanding of:

All routing protocols - theory and configuring
Switching including STP and VLANs and how to hard code root bridge priority
Subnetting..answer subnetting questions in a few seconds
Route summarization and VLSM
NAT - how to configure and use access lists to decide on NATted traffic
Frame relay - theory and hands on configuration
DHCP theory and configurations
PPP theory and configuration
Wireless theory
IPv6 addresses
Wildcard masking
TCP/IP - all your port numbers as well as CDP, ARP, ICMP etc
Access lists - be super good at hands on access list configurations
Securing the switch and router with passwords, SSL, port security, console security

2. Please also ensure that if you are using our extra hard CCNA exams that you are
getting 95% at least EVERY TIME before you sit the real thing.

3. If you are nervous, please use our Cisco hypno recording every day.

4. Be FAST at hands on..please do not fart about using question marks or wondering
if you need to be in interface mode for certain commands. You need to be FAST,
FAST, FAST with your hands on.

This list is not definitive but if you know all the above you should be 95%
ready for the exam.

Thanks

Paul
