A few short thoughts on why people fail the CCNA and how you can be one of
those
who passes first time.
1. Please ensure you have a full and detailed understanding of:
All routing protocols -
theory and
configuring
Switching including
STP and VLANs
and how to hard code
root bridge
priority
Subnetting..answer
subnetting questions in a few seconds
Route
summarization and VLSM
NAT - how to
configure and use access lists to decide on NATted traffic
Frame relay - theory
and hands on
configuration
DHCP theory and
configurations
PPP theory and
configuration
Wireless theory
IPv6 addresses
Wildcard masking
TCP/IP - all
your port numbers as well as CDP, ARP, ICMP etc
Access lists -
be super good at hands on access list
configurations
Securing the switch
and router with passwords, SSL, port security, console security
2. Please also ensure that if you are using our extra
hard CCNA exams that you are
getting 95% at least EVERY TIME before you sit the real thing.
3. If you are nervous, please use our
Cisco hypno recording every day.
4. Be FAST at hands on..please do not fart about using question marks or
wondering
if you need to be in interface mode for certain commands. You need to be FAST,
FAST, FAST with your hands on.
This list is not definitive but if you know all the above you should be 95%
ready for the exam.
