How to Network Tip of the Week #78 - 19th March 2009
===========================================================
Welcome to the seventy eighth www.howtonetwork.net tip of
the week.
===========================================================
This e-mail is coming to you from sunny Brisbane. It is
a beautiful city and we have had a wonderful week here.
Off to a place called Noosa Heads this Saturday.
It is a bit short again but to be honest, until I am
back in the UK I won't have an awful lot to say.

upgrade to Gold level a complementary upgrade to Platinum

If you want to bump up to Platinum for Silver prices just
drop me a line to help@howtonetwork.net saying 'Upgrade Me'
and I will do that.
===========================================================
Have You Accepted the $1000 CCNA Challenge?
If you are on this site I would expect you to take up this
challenge. Firstly because you joined to pass your CCNA
and second, because there is nothing to lose by giving it
your best shot.

Reminders
A gentle reminder for all members.
You can only log in to the site from one IP address at a
time. The system tracks this so you can log in from work,
home or your iPhone but only one location at a time. A
few of you are using your iPhone and the web at the same
time for some strange reason and getting locked out for
24 hours.
When you use the rack please watch the videos first. I
keep getting asked why you are challenged for a username
and password when you log onto the routers. This is all
in the vids so watching them will save you time and bother.
===========================================================
Rack Issues
The self deleting accounts issue has now been resolved. If
you find your account is missing please e-mail us at
racks@howtonetwork.net
===========================================================
Network+
I did the Net+ a few years ago. It was out of date even
then but there is now a new 2009 syllabus. The content I
feel is useful for novice network engineers and it is
worth reviewing the subjects, even if you don't take the
exam.
I am getting the content written at the moment. It should
be ready for the start of May.
===========================================================
What to Do If You Fail Your Exam
Almost everyone on the site passes first time. I do accept
that sometimes it takes a second crack at the exam in
order to pass. I had to take it twice in fact and I had
studied very hard indeed.
Here are a few tips if you are not successful the first
time round:

Cool New Resources for Members
If you are a member of the site, I have started a members
training page so you can learn how to get the most from
all the resources on the site. You will also have noticed
that we have a brand new discussion forum for you to
enjoy with lots more resources.
Please note - TO GET YOUR RACK UP AND RUNNING YOU SET UP
YOUR OWN ACCOUNT AND THEN DROP US AN E-MAIL TO THE
RACKS ACCOUNT. racks@howtonetwork.net This will really
speed things up.
