How to Network Tip of the Week #84 - 30th April 2009
===========================================================
Welcome to the eighty fourth www.howtonetwork.net tip of
the week.
===========================================================
The fact you are reading this means you have managed to
stave off swine fever for another week...well done indeed!
I hope you have all secured yourselves and your family in
a bunker and gathered enough food and water until this
all blows over. I built a shelter when we were told we
were all going to die from avian flu and before that mad
cow disease.
Thanks heavens we have the media to give us the facts
without causing any panic.
The good news is that while you are in your bunker you can
get some serious studying done.

Requests on the Forum.
I have offered lifetime membership for no charge to anyone
who can help me name my next company. So far only two
people have had a go:

Next, I asked for testers for five sets of CCNA exam
questions I have prepared which will be going into a
brand new product page in about a week. You are basically
going to get them for nothing just for testing them.
I had one response! This means that either nobody is
using the forum or that nobody needs to do more study
for the exam or even worse, nobody is interested!
C'mon guys. This is for YOUR benefit to help YOU pass
YOUR CCNA so YOU can have a great IT career, make the
money and support your family!

I have four more exams which will need testing in the
next three days.

Would You Like to be a Cisco Trainer?
Please note that the UK has completely sold out so
don't fill the below form in if you want to run
courses there. We forgot to mention New Zealand and
somebody asked about that. The answer is that this is
now open to any country so long as you can make the
USA training course and so long as we feel it would
work where you plan to run your course..
We now have about 35 names so far and WE ARE LOOKING FOR 10
ONLY but you still have time to express interest as we are
still sifting through applicants and working out the
finer details.

ip helper-address
Somebody asked about this command on the forum today and
it is a great question. I'm wondering if you know how to
use it and what it does? If not then you need to know
because this is a classic CCNA question.
Here is the forum question:

Here is the command explained:

The Best Things In Life Are Tree.
Well I can't use the correct word as it gets filtered out
but it begins with an F not a T.
I want to say that I appreciate you being on this list
and taking the time out to listen to my ramblings. So
as a thank you please download this complementary CCNA
exam. It isn't big but these are the type of questions
you will get caught out on in the actual exam.
I hope you enjoy the exam:

CCNP - BSCI Update
The CCNP is back on track. The labs are pretty much done
as you can see (link on the top of the site) and the
theory is coming along very nicely. I anticipate adding
the theory in modules starting next week. The CCNP rack
is the advanced rack on racks.howtonetwork.net
The track will cost no more than standard membership.

Live Chat on Site
Did anyone find this a useful feature? I have logged in
many times and nobody was using it.
If I hear nothing back I will pull it for now.

101 CCNA Labs Book - Tester Wanted
I have two top testers tearing through the book now,
thanks to those of you who asked but I always give first
refusal to members of the site rather than non-members.
Call me biased!
