How to Network Tip of the Week #86 - 14th May 2009
===========================================================
Welcome to the eighty sixth www.howtonetwork.net tip of
the week.
===========================================================
G'day from overcast UK.
The $1000 draw will be taking place later today and I'm
looking forward to calling the winner.
I am also about to launch three very cool seminars which
will be running in a few weeks. The first is how to land
your dream job in IT. The second is how to break into
the lucrative world of IT contracting and last but not
least, how to start your own IT company and then sell it
for a large profit (just like I did).
I am busily writing the pages for the courses now so if
you don't mind I will make a special announcement outside
of this e-mail very soon. All seminars will be in the UK
this time round.
I'm also really proud to say that we (you and I) have
sponsored another child through World Vision. So long as
membership keeps growing my goal is to sponsor 100
children in total:

New Forums
I have opened two new forums.
Study Groups - I am hoping that some of you will join
forces and help each other out by forming study groups. We
already have one request for Atlanta, GA. I'm sure you
don't have to live there to help out still.
Contacting Paul - I get about 200 e-mails per day and it
is becoming very difficult to run the site and answer
them. I am talking on a PA soon but the best way to ask
me a question is on that forum. Either that or send a
private message.
At this very moment I am developing:
CCNP BSCI theory with our CCIE
CCNA security
3 Seminars (see above)
Cisco training licenses globally
A router emulator package you can all use at home
A 101 labs for CCNA book
Updated version of CCNA Simplified
As well as other projects outside of IT which I won't
bore you with (yet).
I want to give you all the best site possible so to
this end I will have to cut back on e-mail as much
as possible.

Would You Like to be a Cisco Trainer?
Stuart and I are now preparing the training content as
well as looking at dates. We are still considering
applicants so please read on. You will be the first to
receive updates if you are on the list below. Once
again, filling in the form just means you are going to
get first refusal and does not commit you to anything.
Please note that the UK has completely sold out so
don't fill the below form in if you want to run
courses there.
We now have about 45 names so far and WE ARE LOOKING FOR 10
ONLY but you still have time to express interest as we are
still sifting through applicants and working out the finer
details. Please see the discussion forum if you want to
help name the new business.
Please fill in the form below to express your interest.

Brand New CCNA Exams
The new CCNA exams are flying out the door and the
feedback so far has been excellent. Apparently you all
love them.
You can get them here:
http://www.howtonetwork.net/products/department3.cfm
p.s. Those who want to upgrade to platinum for these and
more goodies then drop me a line to help@howtonetwork.net
saying 'upgrade me.' It is $29.97 per month.
===========================================================
Sponsoring Members
I am going to give 3 membership slots to people who for
any number of reasons cannot afford to join. Perhaps due
to 12 years in the police I am not bursting with compassion
but I would like to help some people who genuinely need it.
I am looking for 3 self starters who are going to use the
CCNA to improve their life situation and who are going to
make the most of it. If they are awarded membership but
fail to log into the site within a 48 hour period I will
cancel it and award to somebody else.
The membership will last for 3 months which is plenty of
time to study and pass.
Drop me a line to help@howtonetwork.net I will only be
able to respond to the ones I select and will keep the
criteria to myself. Your details will remain secret. Just
drop me a message and tell me why it should be you. I
may also speak to you on the phone to confirm details.
===========================================================
Members Forum
The members forum is the place to go for help, support,
advice or just to say hello. In the past few weeks it has
gotten very busy which is a good thing for all of us.
Please come over and post a question or answer or just
say 'hi.'

CCNP - BSCI Update
The CCNP theory on IP fundamentals, EIGRP and ISIS is now
complete. We will be adding it starting next week. If you
have passed your CCNA we would love to hear what you think.
The CCNP Security and CCNA Security is going to follow. I
hope to have the voice done in a few months. The rack
topology is the hard thing with this.
===========================================================
New CCIE on the Forum
We have dual CCIE Farai Tafa answering questions on the
forum. Farai is a highly experienced CCIE who is on track
to pass his third CCIE exam this year - in security.
Farai is also helping with the BSCI theory at the moment
so please take the chance to ask any questions of him on
the forum.
