How to Network Tip of the Week #87 - 21st May 2009 =========================================================== Welcome to the eighty seventh www.howtonetwork.net tip of the week. =========================================================== G'day from overcast UK. I've just got back from Brussels. Probably the worst driving I've seen outside of Rome. Well done to Mohamed Fofana who won the latest $1000 CCNA challenge: We will be running the challenge again in a few months and probably the same for the CCNP when the content is all done. =========================================================== Three New Seminars You may have received the special announcement e-mail yesterday. I am basically running three unique seminars teaching you how to either: 1. Get into IT 2. Get started as an IT freelancer / contractor 3. Start your own IT business and sell it This is going to be your only chance to benefit from these seminars. Due to starting up another business in a few weeks, travel plans and another book I will not be able to run them again. If you are reading this weekly tip it stands to reason that one of the above applies to you. My last contract netted over $2k per week and my IT company ran on auto-pilot until I sold it last year. =========================================================== Would You Like to be a Cisco Trainer? THE BELOW OFFER IS ABOUT TO GO INTO SELECTION PROCESS SO PLEASE READ OR YOU WILL MISS OUT. Stuart and I are now preparing the training content as well as looking at dates. We are still considering applicants so please read on. You will be the first to receive updates if you are on the list below. Once again, filling in the form just means you are going to get first refusal and does not commit you to anything. Please note that the UK has completely sold out so don't fill the below form in if you want to run courses there. We now have about 55 names so far and WE ARE LOOKING FOR 10 ONLY but you still have time to express interest as we are still sifting through applicants and working out the finer details. Please see the discussion forum if you want to help name the new business. Please fill in the form below to express your interest. =========================================================== CCNA in 60 Days There are now over 600 people who have used this free service. Many have now passed their exam. What are you waiting for? =========================================================== Forum Question of the Week Well done to Anthony Ashcraft who has asked a good question about how to get multiple AS's for EIGRP to communicate. He gets 10 extra rack hours. The forum is picking up in traffic now which is really pleasing to see. The forum is the heart beat of the site so if you are not coming over to use it you are really missing out on the best part of being a member. =========================================================== What Do Blocking STP Ports Forward? A very simple exam question but can you answer it? If not then you are not ready for the exam because this is the typical type of question you will be asked. The answer is supplied by our dual CCIE Farai on the forum: =========================================================== Members Forum The members forum is the place to go for help, support, advice or just to say hello. In the past few weeks it has gotten very busy which is a good thing for all of us. Please come over and post a question or answer or just say 'hi.' =========================================================== CCNA Exams Remember that before you take the exam for real you will really benefit from taking some more realistic exams. To this end we have some CCIE approved CCNA exams available for you. The exams have a small charge unless you are a platinum member: =========================================================== CCNP - BSCI Update The CCNP theory will be going in over the next few days. Sorry for any delay, we needed to work out how to convert the document to html with CSS. Please check over the next few days to see it all appearing. =========================================================== Please forward this e-mail Please think of any friends or colleagues who would benefit from this content.
