How to Network Tip of the Week #90 - 11th June 2009 =========================================================== Welcome to the ninetieth www.howtonetwork.net tip of the week. =========================================================== A very busy week on howtonetwork.net Our rack support guy, Jason Parker is settling in now and allocating rack accounts. He will then be taking over fulfilling orders and then possibly customer service. This will give me time to get stuck into adding more content and new projects such as voice and security. =========================================================== Inner Circle Coaching Club I have been asked by several people for extra help and support. If I can finish some updates this week I may launch an inner circle coaching group very soon. It will involve conference calls, homework and other goodies to give you a boost for your exam preparation. =========================================================== New Switching Labs Added There are three new switching labs in the module 3 labs department. We have removed all 1900 labs now. The labs are configuring STP root bridges, port security and routing across VLANs. You must not attempt your CCNA exam until you have mastered these labs. One last thing, I am getting all the pages updated with css so they look tidier and uniform. It will take a few weeks to get it all sorted so please bear with us. More details here: =========================================================== Feedback for the new 'Hard' exams is coming in thick and fast. I have changed them so you can check your answers as you go along. I feel strongly that if you can pass those before the real exam you are in with a very good chance of getting through. =========================================================== Would You Like to be a Cisco Trainer? THE BELOW OFFER IS ABOUT TO GO INTO SELECTION PROCESS SO PLEASE READ OR YOU WILL MISS OUT. Stuart and I are now preparing the training content as well as looking at dates. We are still considering applicants so please read on. You will be the first to receive updates if you are on the list below. Once again, filling in the form just means you are going to get first refusal and does not commit you to anything. Please note that THE UK HAS COMPLETELY SOLD OUT so don't fill the below form in if you want to run courses there. We now have about 55 names so far and WE ARE LOOKING FOR 10 ONLY but you still have time to express interest as we are still sifting through applicants and working out the finer details. Please see the discussion forum if you want to help name the new business. Please fill in the form below to express your interest. =========================================================== Three New Seminars Last chance to come on our IT marketing weekend which is running in a few weeks in the UK. This is going to be your only chance to benefit from these seminars. Due to starting up another business in a few weeks, travel plans and another book I will not be able to run them again. =========================================================== Forum Question of the Week Well done to Mark Gray who asked a good question about IP addresses on a switch. I would add 10 hours rack time but you don't appear to be using the rack yet so please do set yourself up. =========================================================== BSCI Theory Added Most of the BSCI theory is up and ready to view. We will be adding some exams next week and then videos. CCNP security will be written during July/August. =========================================================== Twitter Questions of the Day We will be adding a couple of exam style questions every day to our Twitter account. If you want to keep sharp then please follow me on Twitter: =========================================================== Members Forum The members forum is the place to go for help, support, advice or just to say hello. In the past few weeks it has gotten very busy which is a good thing for all of us. Please come over and post a question or answer or just say 'hi.' =========================================================== Please forward this e-mail Please think of any friends or colleagues who would benefit from this content. They can join the howtonetwork.net tip of the week at: All the best Paul Browning www.howtonetwork.net
