Erase Startup-config

Use

This command lets you erase your startup-configuration. When you reload the router or switch it will return to its default configuration.

Syntax

R1#erase startup-config

Example

In the below example R1's startup configuration is erased.

R1#erase startup-config
Erasing the nvram filesystem will remove all configuration files! Continue? [confirm]
[OK]
Erase of nvram: complete
R1#
*Mar 1 02:58:39.755: %SYS-7-NV_BLOCK_INIT: Initialized the geometry of nvram
R1#show start
startup-config is not present
R1#
