Clock Set

Use

Sets the date and time on the router. It is important to configure your date and time in order to properly manage logs.

Syntax

Router# clock set hh:mm:ss DAY MONTH YEAR
OR
Router# clock set hh:mm:ss MONTH DAY YEAR

Example

In the below example the clock set command is used to set the time.

R1#clock set 15:37:00 30 NOV 2008
R1#
*Nov 30 15:37:00.000: %SYS-6-CLOCKUPDATE: System clock has been updated from 00:39:07 UTC Fri Mar 1 2002 to 15:37:00 UTC Sun Nov 30 2008, configured from console by console.

Now to check the time, the show clock command is used

R1#show clock
15:41:32.883 UTC Sun Nov 30 2008
