How to Network Tip of the Week #63 – 20th November 2008
===========================================================
Welcome to the sixty-third www.howtonetwork.net tip of
the week.

More Students Passing
Congrats to the below students who passed their exams last
week:
Rob London – CCNA
Scott Wheeler – CCNA
Scott was on the CCNA in 60 days programme and he
attributes his success to that.
Rob said:
‘Thanks to the resources in your book and on the web site
I passed my CCNA. The time allowed was only just enough and
I was surprised at how difficult it was to make the correct
choices with maybe only 1 or 2 minutes for each question.
Even though I had the answers it took time to apply the
theory and discover the answers. Subnetting was a massive
prerequisite as without it many of the practical labs in
the exam would have been wrong.’
Well done guys.

CCNA in 60 Days
The 60 day programme is now open for joiners. It will be
closing again in about a week so if you are serious about
passing then please rush over there now and jump in.

New YouTube Videos
There are some cool new YouTube vids out there showing you
the quick way to configure CCNA labs. It doesn’t mean you
can get away without knowing how they work but for the
exam, speed is of the essence. I would appreciate a review
on the star rating if you like any of them.

Route Summarization Tutorial
You may well be drilled about route summarization in the
CCENT or CCNA exams. Make sure you can easily and quickly
answer those questions in the exam with my brand new
tutorial:

Private Coaching
There is now only 1 place left on my private coaching
programme. While others want to ‘think about it,’ the ones
who have stared have all booked their exams for 5 weeks
time, have their study manuals, 7 hours of CCNA videos in
their box set and 100 hours of rack time. Oh, and also
private coaching from me every week plus e-mail support.
If you want the last seat please click on the below link.
I do not have time for any others after this last seat
until well into the New Year but by then, I will probably
be busy adding all the new CCNP content.
By the way, there is very little in it for me to offer the
coaching. I just about cover my costs but that is it. As
you know, I am developing many other projects for 2009 so
coaching is something I do to help people who are really
serious about passing their CCNA this year and want
somebody to support and encourage them through.

Cisco Videos
We are developing a very large set of CCNA videos which
you will be able to buy from the site. It will be broken
down into several areas including WAN, Switching, Routing,
Troubleshooting, Disaster Recovery etc. They will be made
available on a USB drive so you can plug and play whenever
you wish.
They will not be the same videos available on the site.
===========================================================
Password Sharing
I didn’t want to bring this up but I have just had to ban
a new member from the site who thought it was okay to share
his login details with his friends. I have also kicked him
off the ‘CCNA in 60 Days’ programme.
We feature advanced GeoIP tracking on the site so if we
see somebody else logging in with your details your account
will be locked. If it happens twice you get banned. It is
okay for you to log in from anywhere in the world, just not
to have somebody else do the same on your account.
As you probably know. I run this business from home and it
supports my family. I am not some anonymous company who
won’t be affected by people sharing my content.
===========================================================
Cisco CCNP Coming
We should be going live on the BSCI module of the CCNP
at the end of the year. We want to make sure it is of the
same high quality as the CCNA content of course.
It will feature theory, hands on labs, exams, cram guide
and a CCNP routing rack for you to use.
===========================================================
New Challenge Labs
Now there is no excuse for failing your CCNA or CCENT.
There are two new videos and configs uploaded to the
challenge labs page. PPP and CDP labs, both of which are
good candidates for your CCNA exam.
