Welcome to the sixty-sixth www.howtonetwork.net tip of
the week.

More Students Passing
Congrats to the below students who passed their exams last
week:
Jerry Gibson who passed his CCNA and said:
‘Although I was only a member of you site for a one month
I wanted to let you know that the study materials were very
useful. I got my CCNA on the first try, passed with a
score of 895.’
Nick Turner who passed his CCNA.
The below people were on the 60 Days to CCNA programme
which is now successfully producing new CCNAs every week.
Ivor Doherty who passed his CCNA and said:
‘I am delighted to report that I have just passed my CCNA
on my first attempt with 941 out of 1000 (pass mark 825).
The support from Paul and this group have been invaluable
in keeping me motivated – Thanks everyone! 🙂
I only started seriously thinking about taking my CCNA at
the start of October, so this proves it can be done. Hang
in there, and I’ll look forward to hearing *your* success
stories in the weeks to come.
And James Carroll who said:
Sorry for the delay in letting you know but I passed my
CCNA on 22nd November with 906/1000 and rewarded myself
by flying out to Portugal the following day for a well
deserved weeks worth of surfing and relaxation!!
It was my second time taking the 640-802 and with out
your help or the 60 day program I think I would have been
well and truly lost!!

New YouTube Vids
I have added a few vids to YouTube. They are all about
configuring NAT in 60 seconds. You need to know NAT for
your CCNA exam.

Live Rack Now Open to the Public
I have opened the live Cisco rack to the general public.
This is because there are far too many open slots
available on the three racks and it is not covering the
hosting costs.
The live rack is here:
http://racks.howtonetwork.net/rms/
I have posted 8 training lessons on how it works and how
to use it on YouTube. Here is the first lesson:

It’s that Time of the Year
I usually take the whole of December off and August as well
but this year I have a new CEO running my CCNA training
company http://www.networksinc.co.uk so we are working on
lots of exciting stuff for 2009.
I am going to slow down a bit for the rest of this year
but for early 2009 you are going to see some new things
added to the site including:
CCNP training (including exams, videos, flash cards)
CCNA security and possibly voice.
Lecture videos to boost your understanding
Big competitions to motivate you to study and pass

The Parts Of Ten
As you may already know. Before I launched the ‘Pass Your
CCNA in 60 Days’ programme I set up a pilot group to test
out the material and provide valuable feedback to improve
it.
Why did I choose ten? Because I knew that by the end some
of them would have given up and would either send me a
very good reason why they didn’t finish or not bother to
reply to me at all.
If you can work out what went wrong for them then you can
avoid falling into the same trap. This is also the secret
to success in any venture in life:

Route Summarization
Just in case you missed it. Cisco do expect you to know
route summarization and VLSM for the CCNA and CCENT exams
so make sure you have them down cold.
