How to Network Tip of the Week #43 – 26th June 2008
===========================================================
Welcome to the forty-third www.howtonetwork.net tip of
the week.
===========================================================
Live Rack Update
The rack is now installed and can be reached over the web.
I have gone back to the developers with a few issues which
need resolving. I am hoping that it will be ready for
testing by a few members early next week.
===========================================================
Welcome New Members
It seems that word is getting around about the site and new
members are joining at a fantastic rate. Thank you so much
for coming on board. I can see lots of posts on the forums
as well.
On howtonetwork.net forums you can count on honest replies
and valuable feedback rather than the usual forum
experience which is sarcasm, massive egos and hidden
agendas.

Any New CCNAs or CCENTs?
I am beginning to worry. I haven’t heard about any members
passing for a week. Are you all getting ready for your
holidays or slacking off your studies 😉
Let me know as soon as you pass so we can inspire the
other members and congratulate you.
===========================================================
CCNA Audio Review
I have recorded a Q and A about some CCNA and CCENT level
topic. I basically post the questions and you give me
the answers and I give you the answer a few seconds later.
The idea is that you can get all the answers right and
then can move onto the next recording which should be
available next week.
The first one is free. Others will be members only. By
the way, I am not a movie voiceover person so you will
have to bear with me. Please don’t listen while driving
or operating machinery (joke).

New Cisco CCNA Certifications
If you haven’t heard already, Cisco have announced new
CCNA level certifications for voice, security and wireless.
This is great news if you want to specialise in any of
these areas but were not ready to take on the full four
exam route. In order to take the new CCNA certs you need
to be a current CCNA so there will be no changes to the
current CCNA.
I have asked before who wants content on the new certs
and out of 1500 people only 2 replied! I was lost for
words. I will be adding the security IINS content over
the next few weeks. Great news because you can stay
on the site and continue to study once you pass your
CCNA.
Here is the Cisco learning centre page.

Finding Your Dream Cisco Job – Part III
This is part 3 of many articles helping you to land your
dream IT role. It is for you if you want to get a break
into IT or move somewhere else.
This week I am going to be asking you to think about what
your definition of a dream IT job it and equally important
getting you to write it down.
Here is Part II
and here is Part I
