How to Network Tip of the Week #37th – 15th May 2008

============================================================

Welcome to the thirty-seventh www.howtonetwork.net tip of
the week.

============================================================

Back from Australia

Just got back on Tuesday this week.

What a fantastic country. I heard it was nice but going
there was like going home. I felt more at home there
than the UK. I am applying to emigrate out there so if
there are any members from Australia who can help with the
process then please let me know.

Here are a few photos of me, my partner Donna and friends
we stayed with.

Welcome New Members

I am struggling to keep up with all the new members joining
the site. Thanks for joining and please say hello on the
forum or post any questions you have. We are all happy to
help.

===========================================================

Members Passing Their CCNA

Our pass rate has now increased to 97% success. Well done
to Patrick Jones from Houston who passed his CCNA this
week.

Congratulations to Michaela Thomas who also flew through
her CCNA last week.

If you use the howtonetwork.net materials, watch the
videos, do the exams and get some hands on with live
routers and switches you will be fine.

===========================================================

Are You Using a Router Simulator?

I am writing a round up of router sims. I don’t really
recommend them but I do accept that it may be hard to get
your hands on live kit at times.

I will be reviewing as many sims as possible so please
send me details of any you are using so I can include it.
I will be covering some by large companies such as Boson
and some written by one man bands which seem very good to
me.

Cisco Release New Foundation Exams

It is all very hush hush at the moment but in the next few
weeks Cisco will be releasing the first of several new
foundation exams. Some providers are already offering the
first of the new exams called the IINS – Implementing Cisco
IOS Network Security.

Are You Ready for the CCNA Exam?

We have had over 300 downloads of the Free CCNA prep exam.
It is designed to give you feedback on whether you are
ready to take the exam and will expose any weak points.
