Command

Vlan Database

Use

This command enters the VLAN database on a switch. This is the legacy way to configure VLAN and VTP information on switches. On newer IOS releases, VLANs and VTP are configured in configure mode.

Syntax

Switch#vlan database

Example

In the below example we will enter the VLAN database and see what commands are available.

2950-XL#vlan database
2950-XL(vlan)#?
VLAN database editing buffer manipulation commands:
abort Exit mode without applying the changes
apply Apply current changes and bump revision number
exit Apply changes, bump revision number, and exit mode
no Negate a command or set its defaults
reset Abandon current changes and reread current database
show Show database information
vlan Add, delete, or modify values associated with a single VLAN
vtp Perform VTP administrative functions.
