howtonetwork.net launched back in 2006. It quickly became one of the leading Cisco certification resources on the internet gaining thousands of members and helping many to pass their Cisco exams. The platform was built using Coldfusion but as technology improved the site no longer offered the flexibility people came to expect such as mobile friendly and streaming videos running on the cloud.
In 2013 we moved to a new platform running video based training, online quizzes and end-of-course certificates as well as a friendly forum. The platform now runs on www.howtonetwork.com. We ported all the written lessons for CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, Network+ and Security+ to a new site called www.howtonetwork.org. We have left this site active because it still contains a large number of useful videos, study tools and resources you can use to pass your Cisco CCNA and CCNP. Access to this site and www.howtonetwork.org (full of written lessons, labs and exams) is free once you join howtonetwork.com. You will see your access codes via the Member Bonus page.

Paul Browning
How to Network was created by Paul Browning back in 2003.
Paul worked as a police officer in the UK from 1989 to 2000 and then left to pursue a career in the IT industry. He started out on a helpdesk doing basic desktop support. He studied hard and passed his CCNA and MCSE and was quickly offered a role working at Cisco TAC in the UK. Paul worked there for two years until it was moved out to India.
By this time Paul had passed his CCNP and CCIE written exams.
Frustrated by the poor quality of most CCNA books and courses Paul began work on CCNA Simplifed – Your Complete Guide to passing the CCNA exam which took three years to write and was finished in 2005. CCNA Simplified has helped hundreds of people pass their CCNA exam and more importantly go onto enjoy a successful career in the IT industry.
